Dr. Ahmadi, an IEEE Fellow, has over 30 years experience in research, development and management with a solid technology background in the areas of wireless and IP networking, mobile communications and systems software in both the enterprise IT and telecommunications industries. His career has seen him undertake a variety of roles with a strong drive for innovation and technical solution creation.

Dr. Ahmadi joins us from Samsung R&D, Silicon Valley, America where he served as Vice President and Head of Advanced System Engineering Lab. In this role he was responsible for technology innovation in the areas of system engineering and performance optimisation of next generation embedded systems and highly interconnected smart computing devices. He has maintained affiliation as visiting scholar with the Center for Networked Systems, University of California at San Diego since June 2009.

Dr. Ahmadi, has also worked as Vice President of Technology Strategy and Innovation at Huawei America R&D Center. Prior to joining Huawei, Dr. Ahmadi served as Motorola's first Chief Architect and Senior Fellow where he led strategic hardware and software architecture planning across all Motorola businesses and R&D. In addition he led Motorola's Wireless Infrastructure, Software and Solutions Systems Technology Research Group.

Dr. Ahmadi has held various leadership roles at AT&T Labs including Vice President of the Global Network and IP Services organisations and Vice President and Chief Technology Architect for Internet and Networking System. At IBM his roles included Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Global Communications Sector and Director of Security and Networking Research at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center.

Dr. Ahmadi received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Columbia University, NY, respectively.

In his new role as the VP and Chief Innovation Officer, Hamid will take responsibility for CSR's innovation frame work and technology strategy to achieve the company's ambition to increase revenues by creating unique and valuable technologies for our future products. He will immediately take leadership responsibility for the Innovation teams in CSR.
