Design freedom, manufacturing on-demand and mass customisation: we're all familiar with the much-hyped benefits that additive manufacturing, or "3D printing" can afford, but how do you best leverage the full capability of AM in the most cost efficient way? What are the key considerations for purchasing a printer? Where is the value-add in AM, and where does it make sense to stick with tried and tested traditional methods? IDTechEx Technology Analyst Dr Bryony Core will share insights into implementing organisational change to realise the potential benefits that additive manufacturing can bring to your business and operations to make you the strongest link in your supply chain.
講演者の経歴 (Bryony Core)
Bryony Core has a first class MChem degree from the University of St Andrews and holds a DPhil in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Oxford. During her undergraduate degree, Bryony undertook a yearlong industrial placement with Sasol Technology UK, and her masters project focussed on the synthesis of transition metal initiators for hydroformylation supported by phosphacyclic ligands.
Bryony's DPhil research focussed on the synthesis of biodegradable polymers using initiators featuring biocompatible metals. Her research has been published in a peer-reviewed journal, has been presented globally at workshops and conferences, and was awarded additional funding as part of an industrial collaboration. Prior to joining IDTechEx, Bryony worked for the aerospace company Cobham plc as a Project Manager on the KC-46 Programme.
