Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas-CSIC is an organism attached to the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. The CSIC is the largest public research institution in Spain and covers several fields from basic research through to advanced technological development. It is organised into eight scientific and technical areas and Instituto Nacional del Carbón - INCAR is included within the area of Chemistry and Chemical Technology. Actually, INCAR-CSIC performs an important research on the development of new carbon materials whose properties are investigated for the most modern applications, from composites to supercapacitors.
