It has a long history of designing chips for video processing, used in applications like digital camcorders and surveillance systems. IDTechEx visited Ambarella in Santa Clara where they discussed Ambarella's automotive technologies.

FLEXOO is a spin-off of InnovationLab GmbH, which specialises in the development and manufacture of printed electronics solutions. FLEXOO designs and manufactures printed pressure and temperature sensors for battery health monitoring solutions, in addition to providing accompanying readout electronics. IDTechEx caught up with Head of Business Development, Florian Ullrich, at LOPEC 2024 in Munich, Germany.

Boréas Technologies is a fabless Canadian semiconductor company supplying low-power drivers for piezoelectric actuation and sensing. Haptics are the primary commercial use-case to date, with micro-pumps for applications including mobile device cooling expected to be important in the near-future.

By 2044, it is expected that the global trucking fleet will be supported by an additional half a million L4 autonomous drivers, while the remaining drivers will either act as supervisors or work in less developed regions. The autonomous truck industry is projected to have an annual growth rate of 25.6% over the next 20 years.

IDTechEx expects the printed and flexible sensor market to reach US$960 million by 2034, with a compound annual growth rate of 8.6%. Being connected to infrastructure systems or partnering with suppliers and distributors will help printed sensors take off, alongside their ability to be available at scale, robust, and have long product lifetimes.
