AMS Osram is a semiconductor company that makes 905-940nm laser emitters and detectors for LiDAR. AMS Osram's latest products include low-power image and time-of-flight sensors, targeting 3D sensing for AR/VR applications. IDTechEx spoke with AMS Osram at its booth at NEPCON Japan 2025 in Tokyo.

Sony has developed an edge AI image sensor for image classification, object detection, and semantic image segmentation on endpoint devices. Sony's IMX500 sensor has a stacked sensor structure combining an image sensor with a digital signal processor and dedicated on-chip SRAM to enable high-speed edge AI processing.
