Factorial Energy, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation are partnering to test Factorial's novel solid-state battery technology and its integration in Hyundai electric vehicles. Under the Joint Development Agreement, which includes a strategic investment, the companies will integrate Factorial technology at the cell, module, and system levels, perform vehicle-level integration, and co-develop specifications for manufacturing Factorial's batteries.

The cruise industry's first hybrid powered ship is set to debut summer 2023 as part of Royal Caribbean Group's ultra-luxury brand Silversea Cruises. The new class of ships, known as 'Project Evolution,' will operate using a trio of power sources including a fuel cell system, battery technology and dual fuel engines using liquefied natural gas as the main fuel. ElectReon announced the successful launch of the first fully operational bus utilizing the company's wireless charging infrastructure in the city of Visby in Gotland, Sweden. Implemented by a consortium of partners, the Smartroad Gotland project began operations in early 2020 and is one of four Electric Road demonstration projects currently being funded by the Swedish Transport Administration, Trafikverket.

AIR, creator of personal eVTOLs for the consumer market, unveiled its debut vehicle, AIR ONE, and announced it is now accepting pre-orders. AIR ONE is a sporty, easy-to-operate electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft designed for individual consumer ownership.

Zoox has been testing their autonomous L3 vehicles in Las Vegas and the San Francisco Bay Area for more than four years. That means they know a lot about how their hardware and software behave in those climates. But the company's goal isn't to change mobility in a few states: They want to reimagine transportation for the whole world. To do that, they have to prepare for unfamiliar roads and novel conditions.
