n this second article on the iVT Electric and Hybrid Industrial Vehicle Technology Symposium November 9-10 in Cologne Germany, we look at powertrains and components being favoured. Because of the large power surges in and out with many of these vehicles, you more often saw supercapacitors compared to on-road vehicles and hybrids remain the preferred option by far.

The iVT Electric and Hybrid Industrial Vehicle Technology Symposium November 9-10 took place in Cologne Germany, the first of a series splitting out Industrial EVs from the whole subject of EVs and batteries covered in UKIP, the organisers' Novi Michigan event every year. About 200 attended with around six table top exhibitors. Most of the speakers were on topic and had valuable things to say. Others varied from McLaren to hydraulics people and those modestly improving conventional vehicles.

Using the same control algorithms for all types of vehicles — scooters, golf carts, and city cars — has several advantages. One is that it becomes much more practical to perform reliable analyses of the system's overall performance.
