Range extenders are the engine part of series hybrids for land, water and air whether plug-in or not. Plug-in cars alone promise to be a $122 billion market in 2024 which means a very large marker for range extenders - probably over $60 billion in 2024 - that are smaller, lighter weight, have less noise and vibration, can be mounted any way up, are preferably multi-fuel and more effiecient and clean and have lower up-front cost and cost-over-life.

Innovative electric car-sharing scheme connected to public transport

n October 2014, 70 Toyota i-ROAD and COMS ultra-compact electric vehicles, and around 30 charging stations developed and managed by EDF's subsidiary Sodetrel, will be open for service for a period of three years thanks to a unique partnership between the City and the Metropolitan Area of Grenoble, French energy company EDF, Japanese car maker Toyota and Citélib, a local car-sharing operator.
