Data at the Edge - RAIN RFID (11:15 - 14:30)

11:15 - 11:40 "Let it Rain! The UHF RFID Alliance"
RAINRFID was foundet as a subgroup of AIM Global in 2014. At current 68 members from all continents are supporting the initiative. The Internet of Things IoT will exist of active and passive devices. RAINRFID will offer the enabling technologies to connect passive „Things" to the internet.

11:40 - 12:05 "How RAIN RFID is Used in Retail Stores to Allow Omni-Channel"
This talk will learn you how retailers use passive RFID to be full omni-channel compliant. Due to the properties of RAIN RFID readers are able to read hundreds of tags at a distance of meters. This allows retailers to increase stock accuracy in their stores, leading to an increase in sales.

12:05 - 12:30 "Evolving Use Cases and Business Models for RFID in Retail"
The use of RFID technology has been widespread in apparel and fashion for the past decade. However, use
cases and business models for RFID deployments are rapidly changing and shifting, from cost-cutting
solutions to use-case studies aimed at increasing turnover and the customer experience. Supply chain
models are also changing, since traditional retailers are leveraging RFID data to enable new models
borrowed from online stores. Learn how RFID is being used, and hear the latest case studies from Europe.

12:30 - 12:55 "Retail RFID Implementation Best Practices"
RFID delivers the inventory accuracy and visibility that is required to deliver an enhanced customer journey and seamless omnichannel experience. In this presentation we will outline best practices for retail RFID implementation including: Business case and custom solution development, piloting, initial roll-out and full scale adoption.

12:55 - 13:20 "Made to Order"
We are living in a time where a few trends are permeating more and more areas of our lives. These
trends are connectivity, individualisation and mobility. These trends enjoy a lot of public visibility
in Internet-of-Things and Industry 4.0. For the producers of furniture, the question is: what would
happen if your bookshelf or cupboard suddenly was "intelligent"?
