The trends of population growth and increasing urbanisation present key sustainability challenges, namely, Environmental Impact; Congestion; User Safety; Low Carbon Energy Supply. There are also two fast-moving trends driving innovation in the automotive sector, the increase in automated control systems and the parallel increase in vehicle connectivity. This trend towards ever increasing intelligent and connected vehicles will help address sustainability challenges through increased safety, efficiency and convenience. This presentation we will consider the impact these developments are having on the automotive sector.

Chris Reeves is the Commercial Manager for Future Transport and Intelligent Mobility Technologies at MIRA Ltd. His current research focus is in the field of intelligent and connected vehicles and low carbon vehicle technologies. He is a highly experienced technical manager with a proven record of developing and delivering high technology solutions to the automotive, defence, security and telecommunications sectors, working for MIRA Ltd, QinetiQ Ltd and BT Group plc.
