Presentation Summary

Industrial internet is a part of through-digitalization, a disruption transforming businesses and society and boosting productivity in global scope. VTT's strategic program Productivity Leap with IoT targets to connect real life objects to business processes, enabling real time data for decision making and actionable intelligence for improved productivity. This presentation focuses to present research high-lights of connected sensing including Zero Power Sensor concept, hardware encryption of sensitive sensor nodes, critical condition communication solutions for unmanned vehicles and solutions for lifecycle management of industrial internet connected sensors and instruments.

Speaker Biography (Jukka Hast)

Jukka T. Hast received the M.Sc. (Tech.) and D. Sc. (Tech.) degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Oulu, Oulu, Finland in 1999 and 2003 respectively.
He is currently the Research Professor of VTT Printed Intelligence and the Research Manager of Printed and Hybrid Functionalities business area at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland ltd. He also acts as the coordinator of the Networked Sensors module in VTT's strategic programme Productivity with Internet-of-Things.
His research background is in the University of Oulu, Optoelectronics and Measurement Techniques Laboratory where he has worked 1998 - 2005 as a research engineer, senior research engineer and assistant professor. He is currently also Adjunct Professor in the Optoelectronics and Measurement Techniques laboratory in the University of Oulu. He has authored and co-authored 22 reviewed journal papers, over 20 invited international conference presentations and over 100 reviewed conference papers.
