Biosensors in the form of artistic tattoos can be used to monitor metabolites in interstitial fluid. In this talk, minimally-invasive, injectable dermal biosensors will be demonstrated for measuring pH, ions, glucose and albumin concentrations. This multiplexed assay can be used to monitor acid-base homeostasis, electrolyte imbalance, diabetes and liver failure in point-of-care settings.
Speaker Biography (Ali K Yetisen)
Dr. Yetisen is a Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. He was previously a Tosteson fellow at Harvard University. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology from the University of Cambridge. He has been awarded several prizes including Nicklin Medal, Humboldt Fellowship, Siemens Fellowship and Tosteson Award.
