In this presentation, we will explore Faurecia's vision for the "Cockpit of the Future", including potential layouts, use cases and new features. In addition, we will explore the development of the lightweight, high-performance materials needed to meet the challenges we face in innovation. We will also delve into case studies on some lightweighting innovation projects.
Speaker Biography (Derek Muller)
Derek Muller's career with Faurecia spans 6 years with leadership roles in the Ford Customer Business Unit and the Global Innovation Department. Muller took on the position of Senior Manager of Research & Innovation North America in 2017. In this role, Muller is responsible for leading a team of talented engineers and designers to create new automotive products and technologies.
Muller began his career in 1997 with Ford Motor Company, a global leader in manufacturing and distribution of automobiles and automotive products and services. In 2002, he took a new role as Senior Product Development Engineer for Grupo Antolin, a tier one automotive supplier specializing in automotive interiors. One year later, Muller transitioned into a program manager position within the organization. In 2012, Muller joined Faurecia as an Advanced Program Manager in the Ford Customer Business Unit.
Muller holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University in Flint, MI, and a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL.
