Speaker Biography (Thorne Sparkman)Thorne Sparkman is managing director at the Slater Technology Fund, where he invests in next-generation energy technologies, and focuses on the earliest stage of company creation. He serves as a board member or board observer for a number of portfolio companies, including Alektrona, Enhanced Energy Group, VoltServer and VCharge, and is a former member of the boards of MTI Film and MTI Machine vision (acquired by DVT Corporation, NSDQ: CGNX), GeneSpectrum (acquired by NABsys), and ModEnergy (acquired by Enersys NSDQ: ENS). Thorne holds a B.A. from Harvard and an M.B.A. from the University of California Berkeley's Haas School of Business.
