Our team was established in 2008 and includes about 40 highly motivated students from all of our three faculties which are technology, economics and welfare. After three seasons of collecting experience with a combustion engine we are now planning to take a step into the future of the automobile by developing an e-car.
 
The project to build an electric car in the next season 2011/2012 is important progress towards new and sustainable technology. It is a great opportunity for the students in the team to gather practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of electric drives, power electronics and battery management. Currently we are evaluating different concepts for a reliable, safe and of course powerful racing car. In order to make this project a success, we are dependent on the support of sponsors for know-how, components and finance. In exchange we can offer exclusive advertising space on our vehicle, publicity in our university and contacts to our engineering team.

DLR German Aerospace Center
DLR is Germany's national research center for aeronautics and space with about 5100 employees. DLR's business fields are space, aeronautics, energy and traffic. In 2001 the Institute of Vehicle Concepts (IFK) has been founded in the DLR research center Stuttgart. The IFK handles and coordinates all research subjects related to traffic and transportation at the DLR location in Stuttgart. The institute is headed by professor Horst E. Friedrich. The activities at the institute contribute to the sustainable development of technological systems for future generations of road and railway vehicles. The main subjects covered at the IFK are: (1) alternative power trains and energy conversion, (2) fuel and energy storages, (3) lightweight and hybrid assembly methods and (4) innovative technological systems and technology evaluation. Since its establishment the IFK develops intensively in the research field of "Alternative Power Trains" in the frame of industrial cooperation projects on alternative drive trains (e.g. project HYLITE), on energy supplies for small industrial vehicles (e.g. project FTS / VFF) with two different fuel cell system concepts and in the area of advanced hydride storages. All those projects represent the institute's activities successfully in the public and in industry. The development of fuel cell operated small vehicles within the power range up to a few kilowatts has tradition in the IFK from the beginning on and is a separate development focus. The basis of these developments is a modularized concept of a simple low pressure PEFC system for hydrogen / air operation. Up to now various different vehicle demonstrators have been equipped and successfully operated with different development stages of this PEFC system concept. The use of industrially manufactured hydride storages is already standard with these systems. Therefore, the necessary accessory systems such as quick-coupler systems and simple refuelling devices were developed and realized together with industrial partners.

e-Wolf GmbH based in the cologne area in Germany is specialised in the development and production of electric vehicles. e-Wolf offers with the DELTA and OMEGA series ready to use electric cars and electric utility vehicles for almost any application. The focus is on safe and performant technology derived from Formula One KERS and transferred to affordable series production for reliable every day use.
 
After its establishment in 2009 e-Wolf developed within six months a 250 km/h extreme sports cars with electric drive to demonstrate the possible performance of electric vehicles. ekolo.cz
ekolo.cz (abbreviation of "e" for electricity and "kolo" - means bicycle in Czech). The company focus is on development and wide promotion of electric bicycles usage, producing full ebike model range of its own brand - AGOGS. Since 2008 the number of electric bicycles sold in the Czech Republic rise from few units to several thousands in 2010 and due the informational campaigns of the company the awareness of the e-transport within the country is significantly higher than in other countries such Poland or Hungary. Flexible Electronics Concepts FEC is a new company set up to create innovative working samples of printed electronics. Many consumer packaged goods companies and other potential end users are frustrated that they cannot obtain innovative product concepts or even simple devices such as smart labels based on the new printed electronics. They do not want components. FEC will endeavour to help by being a product integrator and concept generator for small quantities of printed electronic products.
