Speaker Biography (James Stafford)James Stafford is head of RFID Adoption, for Avery Dennison's Information and Brand Management Division. He has held this position since 2007. James has spent his career in retail buying with a specific focus on Innovation and Development. Prior to joining Avery Dennison, he was Head of RFID for the leading United Kingdom based retailer, Marks and Spencer, spearheading the use of RFID item level tagging. Marks and Spencer is currently tagging approximately 100 million items per annum which is forecasted to increase significantly as more departments transition to RFID labelling. Due to his pioneering work, James is now a recognized authority in retail RFID and has contributed at many international conferences. James has worked closely with the UK government as Chair of both the Department of Trade and Industry's Retail Innovation Group as well as the UK's Department of Trade and Industry's RFID Retail Expert Group. In 2006 he represented UK retailing on two government sponsored Global Watch missions to review RFID developments in Japan and the USA.
