Nippon Chemi-Con has innovatively developed a variety of advanced supercapacitors and their functional materials for the next-generated energy storage devices, in collaboration with Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, to meet the market requirements in the future. This presentation will cover the several functional materials and their device performances comprehensively. Gen2-Li-ion based hybrid supercapacitor and also Gen 3- "Super Redox Capacitor" will be introduced. The Gen 3-Caps. have achieved for high energy density up to 70 Wh L-1 with keeping capacitor-like characteristics, such as excellent input power and low temperature performances. They can be widely applied to a variety of markets which will require high energy efficiency.

Speaker Biography (Kenji Tamamitsu)

Dr. Kenji Tamamitsu is a chief of research center at Nippon Chemi-Con Corporation, a visiting professor of Capacitor Technology Course at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. He had been mainly studying boundary technologies between an electrolyte and electrode of aluminum electrolytic capacitor at products development division of Al-caps until 2002. He then started research of supercapacitor and its materials on transferring to the research center. Now he leads research center corps of Nippon Chemi-Con, focusing on advanced supercapacitor and Li ion battery materials.
