Presentation Summary

The challenge of scaling Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is to support a large number of nodes while meeting stringent communications requirements in rugged industrial environments. Such networks must operate reliably more than ten years without intervention and be scalable to enable business growth and increasing data traffic over the lifetime of the network.
In this talk we describe a field-proven industrial WSN that reliably scales to 48,000 nodes. We include an architecture discussion, application examples and discuss the importance of network stress testing for Industrial WSNs at such scale.

Speaker Biography (Ross Yu)

Ross Yu is the Product Marketing Manager for the Dust Networks product line. Mr. Yu and his team at Dust Networks have made significant contributions to solving the challenges inherent in the exciting field of wireless sensor networking, and Mr. Yu has been instrumental in bringing to market the industry's most reliable and lowest power wireless mesh sensor networking solutions. Mr. Yu holds a Bachelors of Science degree and a Masters of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
