Speaker Biography

Dr. Karel J. Vanheusden earned a Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, in 1994. After a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Sandia National Laboratories, Karel joined Superior MicroPowders LLC, which was acquired by Cabot in 2003. Karel is currently the Strategic Programs Manager for Cabot Corporation's Printable Electronics and Displays business. He has received many awards including the 1998 Discover Magazine Award, the 1998 Industry Week Technology and Innovation Award, and the 1997 R&D 100 Award. He is the author of over 60 papers in refereed journals, and currently holds 4 issued patents
