Jacob Christianson is a technology analyst at IDTechEx, focusing on battery and energy storage technologies. Prior to joining IDTechEx in 2024, Jacob completed his master's degree in chemistry from the University of Oxford.
Jacob graduated from the University of Oxford with an MChem (Master of Chemistry). During his master's project, he designed, prepared and tested novel ionic liquid electrolytes for fluoride-ion batteries, co-authoring a paper in an ACS journal. The project focused on studying the degradation of the fluoride ion, with a view to designing future electrolytes that do not contain toxic hydrofluoric acid. Aside from a deep understanding of the battery industry, he has wide-ranging chemical and technical expertise.
At IDTechEx, Jacob is focusing on current and emerging battery and energy storge technologies.
