Transparent rechargeable battery is a missing piece in fully transparent electronic devices
The traditional approach of using thin films for transparent devices is not suitable for battery as it cannot store enough energy.
Grid-structured electrodes are used to fabricate a transparent batteries with reasonable energy density.
A battery with energy density of 10 Wh/L at a transparency of 60% is demonstrated and it could potentially reach 100 Wh/L.

講演者の経歴 (Yuan Yang)

Yuan Yang received his B.S. degree from School of Physics, Peking University in 2007. He is currently a Ph. D. candidate in Department of Materials Science at Stanford University. Yuan Yang has seven years experience in nanoscience and technology, focusing on synthesis of nanomaterials, and their applications in energy storage. He is currently working on various aspects of energy storage devices, including high energy cathode materials and diagnostic tools for Li-ion batteries. He also developed a transparent battery and paper and textile-based batteries and Supercapacitors together with his colleagues.
