Speaker Biography (Werner Schiffers)Werner Schiffers graduated from the Technical University of Aachen, Germany with a degree in Physics. Following his degree he did a PhD at Loughborough University in Applied Optics and has since worked on a number of product development and production support projects for major blue chip companies. He joined the Strategic Research Centre at Rolls-Royce plc in 2005. His main responsibilities are for the evaluation of new technology and for the company's wireless sensor strategy. He is a Chartered Physicist with the Institute of Physics and a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
