Webinar 23 July: Electric motors for electric vehicles 2015-2025
IDTechEx are hosting a free webinar.

Webinar Title: Electric Motors for Electric Vehicles 2015-2025
Date: Wednesday 23rd July 2014
Presenter: Dr Peter Harrop, Chairman, IDTechEx

By definition, all hybrid and pure electric vehicles have an electric motor to move them along. Typically it drives a wheel or propeller. About 200 companies make such motors even including very small electric vehicle manufacturers designing their own. The main choice is between asynchronous and three types of synchronous motor and intermediate designs are on the increase. There is a trend to integrate traction motors with other parts and systems and have more than one per vehicle.

This free webinar will cover some of the following research from our new report Electric Motors for Hybrid and Pure Electric Vehicles 2015-2025: Land, Water, Air.

• Types of EV traction motor and trend by type of vehicle for land, water and air.
• Why a high proportion of vehicles have more than one traction motor but few are in-wheel as yet.
• Results of IDTechEx survey of 156 manufacturers.
• Forecasts.
