Webinar Title: Neuroprosthetics: re-engineering sound, sight, and touch
Date: Tuesday 5 September 2017
Presenter: Dr Alexis Karandrea, Technology Analyst, IDTechEx

Neuroprosthetics have been in development since the advent of the cochlear implants decades ago. Since then, this technology has been adapted towards restoration of sight in patients going blind, and more recently, the development of bi-directional communication systems for use with bionic limbs (neuroprosthetic limbs). These devices have the potential to enhance a patient's overall quality of life as they may now be able to function more independently with a partially restored sense of sound, sight, and level of mobility. This webinar explains trends in the development of these devices and predicts their uptake over the next decade, as covered in our new report, Neuroprosthetics 2018-2028: Technologies, Forecasts, Players.
This webinar will include:
- Introduction to the scientific basis for neuroprosthetics
- Overview of competitive patent and clinical trials timelines
- Overarching trends for cochlear implants, retinal implants, and neuroprosthetic limbs
- Market forecasts for these technologies
We will be holding exactly the same webinar twice in one day. Please register for whichever session is most convenient for you. Regular attendees please be aware that our morning sessions now start at 10am BST/GMT+1.
