AEye is a technology company that provides advanced imaging and sensing solutions for various industries, including smart infrastructure and automotive. The company was founded in 2013 and is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

AEye have developed what its team calls the iDAR technology, which means intelligent detection and ranging.

Sensors and their enabling technologies are being developed rapidly. From materials, to components, from manufacturing method to integration techniques, from R&D to commercialization, the various disruptive technologies and their applicants indicate the continued improvement in the innovation from different aspects. Each year at IDTechEx Show!, a company is honoured the Best Innovative Sensor Technology award for its development and achievement in the sensor innovation and commercialization area.

AEye offer lidar modules that integrate a 2D RGB camera. IDTechEx interviewed Mr Aravind Ratnam and Mr Stephen Lambright from AEye in May 2019. Ratnam is the Vice President of Product and Lambright is the Vice President of Marketing, and both are based in USA.
