Boréas Technologies
Aito are a notably similar company when it comes to both the technology and the target markets. They have also developed a user interface system based on ceramic actuators which can do both sensing and haptics. However, Aito's system is more specifically aimed at the automotive sector. Their drivers can control 8 different actuators, whereas Boréas can control 2 at most. However, Aito's system is much larger and would not fit into a consumer device. Simon also said that he expected that the Aito system would potentially be using both higher voltages, and have a higher power consumption. We agreed that both were likely (although less critical in the automotive setting vs the smartphone setting), but had no data to confirm this.
