Wearable Technologies Conference Report - Munich 2015

IDTechEx attended the Wearable Technologies AG event in Munich, Germany on February 2-3, 2015. The event involved a two day conference and trade show tied to the larger ISPO tradeshow happening later in the week. The event brought around 400 people from the wearable technology ecosystem together, with many start-ups but also prominent sponsors of the industry, including lead-sponsors Intel and Flextronics.

The Rise of Thin, Flexible and Printed Batteries

IDTechEx has studied the technologies and markets for thin film, flexible and/or printed batteries. IDTechEx will disseminate its key findings. Here, IDTechEx will qualitatively benchmark the different technologies that fall under its categorization including single use zinc batteries, printed zinc-based rechargeable batteries, thin film lithium ion and lithium metal batteries.

Clothing+

Clothing+ has been in business for more than 15 years and was a pioneer in the mass production of textile-based heart rate measurement systems. The company is divided in two business units: Sports and Medical. While Sports has grown faster recently, they expect that Medical will become the main part of the business in the longer term. In July 2015, they were acquired by Jabil Circuit.

Brammo production gets underway in Europe

Brammo Inc. recently announced that production of its electric motorcycles is now under way at the Flextronics production facility in Sàrvàr, Hungary.
