CES is an annual trade show organized by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), hosting presentations and demonstrations of new products and technologies in the consumer electronics industry. This year (2022) the event was held on 5-7th January in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.

This milestone means the robots are able to operate routinely without human intervention, and can rely on their onboard capabilities to ensure safe operation. IDTechEx contacted Lei Zhang, marketing manager at Pudu Robotics at CES 2022. Pudu Robotics is a start-up based in Shenzhen, China, established in 2016. The company is focused on indoor service, disinfection and delivery robots.

At CES 2022, IDTechEx communicated with Asuka Takamoto, Director, Group Management Department at tmsuk co., Ltd. tmsuk is a Japanese company providing practical robotic solutions in a wide range of fields, such as disaster rescue, mobility, nursing, medical training, etc.

At CES 2022, IDTechEx managed to have a conversation with Monica Lee, CMO and co-founder of aiseed Inc. This Taiwan-based start-up is focused on its proprietary AI-enabled autonomous delivery drones, drone fleet management systems and customer-end app.

IDTechEx got connected with Risa Oishi, Public Relations at SkyDrive Inc at CES 2022. SkyDrive is a Japanese start-up established in July 2018 in Tokyo. The company is focused on autonomous drones, now have two types of products - passenger electric flying vehicle and heavy-duty cargo delivery drone.

Sony announced and exhibited an SUV-type prototype vehicle (VISION-S 02) as a new form factor. This vehicle uses the same EV/cloud platform as the prototype (VISION-S 01), which is being tested on public roads.

John Deere has revealed a fully autonomous tractor that's ready for large-scale production. The machine combines Deere's 8R tractor, TruSet-enabled chisel plow, GPS guidance system, and new advanced technologies. The autonomous tractor will be available to farmers later this year.

Researchers have found a way to make AI-generated voices, such as digital personal assistants, more expressive, with a minimum amount of training. The method, which translates text to speech, can also be applied to voices that were never part of the system's training set.
