Presentation Summary

The concept rethinks the structure of a Zn/Br battery to realize a low-cost, long-duration and durable platform for residential energy storage. In this work, we demonstrate elimination of expensive passive components including separators, pumps, and electrochemical stacks to reduce the overall cost of the system while maintain the performance of the high-energy chemistry employed in Zn/Br batteries.
