Presentation Summary

Of the two broad classes of functionality in a wearable device - sensing and information output (notifications), the information output side has received a lot of attention thanks to the large Taptic engine designed by Apple, into its smart watch. This Taptic engine provides tactile feedback for the different types of notifications but it also occupies over 30% of the area within the watch. The traditional technologies like ERM and LRA and bulky, heavy, rigid and provide one, somewhat annoying buzz. Better solutions are required to provide more effective notifications. It is all about low frequency!
