Speaker Biography (Michele Ricks)
Michele is a Business Development Manager at EMD Performance Materials Corp., an affiliate of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, specializing in OLED materials. She has 15 years experience in the OLED industry, as part of the team that successfully launched production of the world's first Active Matrix OLED display, which won the industry's 2002 Display of the Year Gold Award and the 2003 Silver Award as part of the Kodak LS633 digital camera. At Kodak, Michele led several commercialization projects, bringing new materials to market. She led or participated in technology teams focused on OLED formulation, encapsulation and lighting, resulting in the 2009 OLED Lighting Enabling Technology of the Year and 2008 OLED Display Technology Leadership awards from Frost and Sullivan. As Product Line Manager for Kodak's OLED materials business, she worked with display and lighting manufacturers worldwide. Michele leads the OLED Coalition, an industry alliance promoting the advancement of OLED lighting in the US market. She holds 19 granted US patents in OLED technology.
