Speaker Biography (Novis Smith)

Dr. Smith has over 40 years experience in materials R&D, focusing on new developments and improvements for lithium chemicals, lithium battery and EDLC electrolytes, ballistic composites, and fire and heat resistant materials. He currently is involved in research & development in high purity EDLC and lithium battery salts, the resultant electrolyte solutions, as well as the other battery and EDLC components and materials. He has developed an extensive knowledge of lithium chemistry, specialty carbons, composites, carbon fiber, glass fibers, thermo-plastic resins, and fire resistant materials. He holds 104 issued U.S. Patents including many on lithium and EDLC chemistry and processes with over 10 U.S. applications pending.
