Presentation SummaryFabry-Perot interferometers (FPIs) are tunable optical filters, which form the core of small and cost-efficient hyperspectral imagers and microspectrometers. This presentation gives an overview of VTT's FPI technologies and how they have enabled novel sensing applications, including emerging medical products, automotive sensors, space instruments, food scanning- and mobile sensing devices. Speaker Biography (Anna Rissanen)Dr. Anna Rissanen is a Research Team Leader of the VTT Microspectrometers team. She has more than 15 years of expertise in MEMS development, including optical and electrical design of MOEMS structures and process integration/development for surface micro machined Fabry-Perot interferometers. Her core competence is in the opto-electromechanical design, integration & execution of high complexity MEMS fabrication processes for optical sensors, micro-spectrometers and optical filter structures for MEMS hyperspectral imagers. She actively pursues commercialization of the developed optical sensor technologies with industrial partners and her team has a track-record of successfully generating novel applications and optical sensor products.
