Presentation Summary

High energy density Li-ion capacitor pouch cells were assembled with lithiated anode and activated carbon cathode, and conventional electrode and capacitor structures. The anode electrode was made with hard carbon and stabilized lithium metal powder. The capacitor had the energy density of 30 Wh/kg and was able to discharge over 50% of the maximum stored energy at the rate of 120C. The cycle life and other properties of Li-ion capacitors were also studied.
