With over 25 years' experience in engineering, starting as a 15-year old Apprentice, Neill Ricketts has become recognised as one of GB's leading entrepreneurs and CEO's. In 2011, he founded Versarien, a company that remains at the forefront of graphene development and a spin-out from the University of Manchester's National Graphene Institute. Versarien was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2013.

 

Neill's engineering journey has seen a meteoric rise and has involved multiple industry sectors including Oil & Gas, Aerospace and, his beloved, Motorsport. Winning the Government's "Start-up of the Year" in 2011 was the first of 20-odd national and international awards Neill has accumulated for his company, which now boasts six subsidiary companies, a plethora of engineering innovations and rapidly growing workforce.

Versarien specialises in the manufacture of advanced 2D materials such as graphene, through subsidiaries 2D-Tech and Cambridge Graphene.

 

Versarien is a Tier 1 member of the Graphene Engineering and Innovation Centre, (GEIC) at the University of Manchester and collaborates with the Cambridge Graphene Centre at the University of Cambridge. Versarien has announced over 20 industry collaborations and international projects within a variety of sectors. These partnerships focus on the implementation of graphene enhanced products into the marketplace.
