Speaker Biography (Mark Norfolk)
Mr. Norfolk has 15 years of experience in manufacturing, R&D, and shop floor management. As President and CEO of Fabrisonic LLC, Mr. Norfolk leads Fabrisonic in the commercialization of Ultrasonic Additive Manufacturing (UAM) Technology. Mr. Norfolk lead development and research into high power UAM for four years leading up to the inception of Fabrisonic and has been with the company ever since.
Prior to Fabrisonic he worked for a non-profit research firm, EWI. Mark was a Senior Project Manager in the Navy Joining Center (NJC) operated by EWI. The NJC is one of five U.S. Navy ManTech Centers of Excellence. As part of the NJC, Mark managed Navy development projects for new technology that ranged from several hundred thousand dollars to several million dollars. He also managed research and development programs for the U.S. Department of Energy, Ohio Department of Development, as well as varied commercial customers. Mark started his career at John Deere, where he pioneered new methods for full vehicle durability testing of off highway vehicles. The early testing background led to an opportunity as a Senior Engineering leading Deere corporate development and implementation of virtual manufacturing across the enterprise.
Mr. Norfolk received his BS Welding Engineering from The Ohio State University in 2000 and his MBA from The University of Iowa in 2007. He is a licensed Engineer in the state of Ohio and a certified Project Management Professional.
