Speaker Biography (Markus Klann)Markus Klann is the head of the Situated Computing Lab at Fraunhofer FIT. His main scientific interest is on human factors in mobile IT-support for situated knowledge- and skill-intensive activities, with a particular focus on the domain of emergency response. He has been studying the design of ICT for fire fighting, post-earthquake response and generally large-scale interventions since 2004 in several projects including wearIT@work, STEP and SOCIONICAL. He is co-chair of the Mobile Response symposium (www.mobileresponse.de) and serving as organizer of related workshops and as program committee member for a number of related conferences. Today, about 100 scientists from computer science, design, psychology, and sociology are working at FIT to produce recognized scientific contributions in areas such as human-computer interaction, computer-supported cooperative work, as well as virtual and augmented reality. FIT has been partner or coordinator in numerous national and European research projects for many years and is providing services to industrial customers.
