Speaker Biography (Martin Kemp)

Following an extensive research career at DERA/QinetiQ where he specialised in advanced materials for aerospace applications Martin Kemp moved into corporate marketing where he developed technology transfer into automotive and civil aerospace, developing initiatives such as a hydrogen powered city car demonstrator 'TECAR'. In 2001 he joined the UK government programme DTI GlobalWatch Service as an International Technology Promoter for Western Europe specialising in nanotechnology. Moving into technology promotion for the UK Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network, he initiated a campaign to develop a UK battery development centre (Catapult) which was realised in 2013 at Warwick University. In 2014 he joined Haydale as Business Development Director, leading the sales and marketing of plasma surface functionalisation of graphene. He is Chairman of the IOM3 Nanomaterials Committee and has served on other significant academic and industry groups, and is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Marketer.
