In 2001 he joined the UK government programme DTI GlobalWatch Service as an International Technology Promoter for Western Europe specialising in nanotechnology. Moving into technology promotion for the UK Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network, he initiated a campaign to develop a UK battery development centre (Catapult) which was realised in 2013 at Warwick University. In 2014 he joined Haydale as Business Development Director, leading the sales and marketing of plasma surface functionalisation of graphene. He is Chairman of the IOM3 Nanomaterials Committee and has served on other significant academic and industry groups, and is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Marketer. Company Profile (Haydale Limited)Haydale Ltd are an advanced materials development company which has developed a plasma treatment process to surface functionalise particulate materials. A subsidiary of Haydale Graphene Industries which launched an IPO on London AIM stock exchange in April 2014 and raised £6.5m, the company is based in South Wales near Swansea is currently expanding its 2 tonnes p.a processing capacity. The revolutionary aspect of the HDPlas® process is that it promotes dispersion and chemical activity in materials such as graphene that are effectively inert, exploiting the incredible potential of nanomaterials. |
