Presentation Summary

Green hydrogen production via electrolysis is the main barrier to entry to the Hydrogen economy, as the most significant energy losses are incurred in production for a H2 energy storage mode. As the trend of implementation of renewable energy technologies accelerates, so too will the need for a versatile, sustainable mode of energy storage.

Speaker Biography (Sean Crawford Chapman)

BS in Engineering Physics from Tufts University. Worked at the Sustainable Electrochemical Energy lab under the supervision of Dr. Iryna Zenyuk. Projects entailed electrochemical characterization and multi-physics modeling of Platinum electrocatalysts in PEM fuel cell applications. Later worked under Dr. Adam Weber at Berkeley Labs, tasked with modeling PEM electrochemical compression for implementation in H2 refueling stations. Currently a modeling engineer for Enapter, whose AEM, non-noble metal electrocatalyst electrolysers allow for cost-effective, scalable production of green H2.
