Speaker Biography (John Richmond)

First degree in Mechanical Engineering at Bradford University in 1979, PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Reading University - research topic "Traction in Elastohydrodynamic Lubrication". Worked at Federal Mogul R&D Centre from 1983 to 2000 and over that time progressed from leading engineering projects to becoming Director of the Engineering Systems Division.
From 2001 to 2002 was Director of Technology Coordination - Federal Mogul Advanced Powertrain Systems . From 2002 to 2005 was a responsible for setting up and running a global strategic project management office for the Federal Mogul Bearings Product Group
Joined Tata Motors European Technical Centre in 2005 as Chief Engineer responsible for Advanced Engineering. Subsequently became Head of Advanced Engineering for Tata Motors as a whole and have been one of those that has championed Tata Motors progression into Electric and Hybrid Vehicles.
