Biography

Since 2002 James Rowe has been Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Sheep Industry Cooperative Research Centre based in Armidale. Before taking on this role he was the Professor of Animal Science at the University of New England for 8 years.
 
James has a PhD in animal nutrition and was senior sheep nutritionist and then head of the Cattle Industries Branch of the Department of Agriculture in Western Australia over a period of 12 years. He has also acted as a consultant to a number of international organisations and worked in the private sector with ICI Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer.
