Efficient Power Conversion

Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) creates low-voltage GaN discretes and ICs for automotive systems, yielding better efficiency and cost, as well as supporting the transition to 48V systems.

EPC is a provider of power semiconductors using gallium nitride (GaN) technology. The key areas discussed with IDTechEx were the benefits of their GaN FETs (field-effect transistors) over the typical silicon MOSFETs (metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors) for applications such as LiDAR and for low voltage electric motors.

EPC (Efficient Power Conversion) is an American company, set up by Alex Lidow, who has an extensive background in transistors and was the co-inventor of the silicon MOSFET in the 1970s.
