Key wearable technology markets
In 2015 the wearable technology market will be $24.2 billion. GSK - an end user view on Wearable Technology and Sensors
The Platform Technology & Science division of GSK is a group of around 3000 people that provides technology innovation support to the three main sections of GSK: consumer, pharmaceutical and vaccines. Within the PTS, the Innovation PTS division (iPTS) is a group of 25-30 staff looking for novel science to support the main divisions. Proteus Digital Health
Proteus first received funding for research into digital healthcare projects in 2004. Based in Redwood City, CA, they now have over 200 employees and have worked on several collaborations, including with Novartis, Medtronic, Oracle and the NHS in the UK. They underwent rebranding in 2012, changing their name from Proteus Biomedical to Proteus Digital Health. They are a privately held company, and have received over $400 million in funding from sources including Carlyle, Essex Woodlands, Kaiser Permanente®, Medtronic®, Novartis®, Otsuka®, Oracle®, ON Semiconductor® and other investors.
