Presentation Summary

There are many available transparent materials and there are many materials that are electrically conductive, but very few available materials are both. This means that manufacturers' options are often limited when it comes to applications that demand transparent conductive materials - particularly when those needs increasingly call for flexibility and formability. Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) has been the winner in the TCF market for years, but the demand for ITO is changing. Many product designs are moving towards thin, flexible and 3D-shaped form factors, and ITO just can't keep up. This presentation will explore the advantages and disadvantages associated with the status quo for ITO alternatives currently on the market as well as new commercially available conductive films, with a focused discussion of the benefit of considering hybrid structures of conductive metals and carbon nanotubes to overcome certain limitations.

Speaker Biography (David J. Arthur)

Mr. Arthur is a co-founder of CHASM Advanced Materials and currently serves as CEO. He has more than 35 years of experience in executive leadership roles, including work at Rogers Corp, A.T. Cross, TPI Composites, Helix Technology Corp, and Eikos Inc. He was recognized by NanoBusiness Alliance as one of the top ten most influential people in the field of Nanotechnology and is an inventor with more than 30 patents. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University, MS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from Northeastern University.
