IDTechEx Awards Categories 2015
The IDTechEx Awards recognize company development and success. All companies operating within these technologies are welcome to apply. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 18.

These awards will be presented by
Mr Ralph Russo
Chairman of the Board of Directors, Novasentis
Ralph has had a prolific and highly successful 35+ year career as an executive at Apple, Honeywell, Bay Networks, and Nortel Networks. He is the founder and former first President and CEO of Strategic Polymers Sciences Inc (now Novasentis). He holds a BS from St. Peter's University, an MBA from Regis University, and a Manufacturing Management Certificate from Harvard Business School.
Technical Development Materials Award
This award will be given to the most significant technical development over the last 24 months in the field of material development. A material is defined as any consumable used in the manufacturing of a printed electronic device, for example substrates and fluids/inks.
Technical Development Manufacturing Award
This award will be given to the most significant development of a manufacturing device, process or production plant in the industry over the last 24 months. Manufacturing developments optimize the process of lab-scale or mass-scale production by improving productivity, quality, reliability, uniformity, or scale.
Product Development Award
This award will be given to a company who has launched a new integrated product based on printed electronics and is in the process of bringing it to market. The category will be assessed on the technical development of the product, its potential market, and benefits it brings over alternatives. For this award, a product is defined as two or more materials integrated through a manufacturing process. Commercial success is not a criterion for this award. Judges will focus on the innovation of the product development.
Best Commercialization Award
This is the award given to an actual commercial success with an end product using printed electronics. Judges will look for success in terms of products sold and revenues generated, as well as impact on the marketplace and society at large. Mass scale deployment is an important consideration for this award.
Best Academic R&D Award
This award will be given to an academic research organisation that has made a significant contribution over the past 24 months to the understanding of the principles and accrued knowledge behind printed electronics.

Mr John LeMoncheck
President And Chief Executive Officer, Cambrios
John LeMoncheck is a distinguished leader of both startups and public companies. Prior to Cambrios, LeMoncheck was president and CEO at SiBEAM, a leader in millimeter wave solutions and developer of high-speed wireless communications technology. Under LeMoncheck's leadership, the company successfully shipped WirelessHD products to the consumer electronics and PC markets and was acquired by Silicon Image in 2011.
Before joining SiBEAM, LeMoncheck was vice president of Consumer Electronics and PC/Display Products for Silicon Image, where he led the company's successful launch and commercialization of the HDMI standard. An industry veteran, LeMoncheck held executive roles at various technology companies including TeraLogic, subsequently purchased by Zoran and now owned by Qualcomm, Arithmos, Inc., which was successfully acquired by STMicroelectronics and was also a member of technical staff at Synaptics.
He has a bachelor's of science degree in Electrical Engineering from U.C. San Diego and spent several years researching VLSI for imaging and pattern recognition applications at Caltech.

Energy Harvesting and Storage
This award will be given to a company that has launched a new product based on Energy Harvesting (in the last 24 months, November 2013 - November 2015) and is in the process of bringing it to market. The category will be assessed on the technical development of the product, its potential market, and benefits it brings over alternatives.
Best Poster
This award will be judged at the show and all organisations displaying a poster in the exhibition will be entered for this award.
This award will be given to the company or academic organisation for the most promising advances in this technology area. The category will be assessed on the technical development of the work, its potential for market entry, and the benefits it brings to the body of work in the given area.

Best Development in 3D Printing Equipment
This award will recognize an achievement in 3D printing equipment - such as speed, volume, printer cost - that is innovative.
Best Development in Materials for 3D Printing
This will be awarded to the company that has made the biggest progress with developing a material for 3D printing.

Senior Vice President, Sandisk Corporation
Henri Richard is SanDisk's senior vice president of worldwide commercial sales & support. Prior to joining SanDisk, he served as SVP and chief sales and marketing officer for Freescale since 2007, leading an organization of over 1,000 people with functional responsibilities that included sales, technical support, and corporate, field and segment marketing. Prior to Freescale, Richard held various senior executive sales and marketing positions at companies including AMD, WebGain, IBM and Seagate. Richard has worked in both the U.S. and Europe, and his experience includes entrepreneurial roles in addition to senior corporate positions.
Richard holds a Baccalaureate E Science & Technology degree from Ecole Nationale Radiotechnique Electronique Appliquee in France; he also attended the Université Paris Jussieu, the Ville d'Avray Institute of Technology and completed numerous executive development programs at the CRC Jouy en Josas.
Best New Wearable Technology Device
This will be awarded to the entrant that the judges decide as having developed the most useful and/or innovative wearable technology device. The device should be relatively new (launched within the last 12 months).
Best New Material or Component Development
for Wearable Technology
This award will recognize the most significant development of a material or component which will have a large effect on enabling wearable technology devices, overcoming prior limitations of wearable technology devices.

Best IoT Technology Development
Entrants should have made a significant development in improving and enabling IoT, either hardware, software or system based. The judges will look at the merits of all entrants to judge which has the most significant impact on moving forward the application of IoT.
Best Application of IoT
This award will be given to the entrant who has successfully used IoT to solve a problem or generate significant value for the user. The judges will be looking for a complete implementation with details of the payback that was achieved.
