His organization skills in leadership, task management and strict expense control have achieved effective results while bringing ideas to business viability. He has been involved in forming a number of companies, including Power Paper, a provider of thin and flexible micro-powered devices and technology, where he served as CEO from the company's inception in 1997 until March 2002 and established the structure and the business model of the company today. He also founded Applied Quorum Israel, an Israeli R&D center for consumer microelectronics and a subsidiary of Applied Electronics Ltd., a Hong-Kong based company, and AQI Ltd., a design house and incubator involved in new technologies and applications for consumer microelectronics in medical, security, automation and other applications. His experience of creating new technology organizations started in 1984 with the Foundation of Science Ltd. Previously, he was involved in the preliminary design of military and commercial aviation products and systems at Israel Aircraft Industries. Mr. Levanon holds a B.Sc. in Aeronautical Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology and holds a graduate degree in Economics and Business Administration. He graduated from the Israel Air Force Academy for Flight Duties and served in the Israel Air Force, achieving the rank of Lt. Colonel. Don AlexanderDonald Alexander is Graphic Solutions International Printed Battery and RFID Product Manager. He is responsible for developing new prospects and managing customer relations with existing clients. Donald's focus is to create business opportunities within the specialized RFID and thin film printed battery product lines by spearheading efforts to launch the market introduction of innovative products. He has over twenty years of experience in leading product development and program management activities with several Fortune 100 companies in the consumer electronics and telecommunications industry. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree and Master's in Business from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Bill RobertsBill Roberts, Cryovac/Sealed Air Corporation Bill Roberts holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Harvard University, with 23 years of industrial R&D experience in the specialty chemicals and packaging industries. As a researcher with W.R. Grace's Washington Researh Center in Maryland, and, since 1993, Cryovac in Duncan, South Carolina, Bill's area of focus has moved from polymer chemistry to active and intelligent packaging. Current projects include traceability, temperature sensing, and product security/authentication. Leonard AllisonLeonard Allison, Thin Battery Technologies, Inc., President BSME from Michigan State University. Previous experience includes electronic packaging design at Dupont Berg Electronics, and electronic circuit and battery fabrication with conductive materials at Acheson Colloids Company. Len's extended Asian postings in a technical sales/marketing role gained useful experience toward market focus and new business development. Gidy WeisglassGidy Weisglass, Power Paper, Director of Sales, Europe, PowerID Division Mr. Weisglass brings more than 20 years of sales experience in high-tech companies. Prior to joining Power Paper, Mr. Weisglass served as VP of Sales, Europe of Crystal Systems Solutions Ltd. (Nasdaq:CRYS) and was responsible for the operations of the European office in the Netherlands. At Crystal, he was instrumental in creating strategic partnerships with IBM, Cap Gemini, CMG, Logica and T-Systems, and increasing sales to $20 million in three years. Prior to joining Crystal, Mr. Weisglass served as VP of Sales, Europe at E-Sim (Nasdaq:ESIM), a leading provider of simulation software development technologies for embedded products, where he achieved over 300% accumulated sales growth between the years 1996 to 1998. Prior to that, he was one of the founders of Formula Computer Technologies, a software product division of the Formula Group, which spun off to become a separate company and later became a publicly traded entity. Mr. Weisglass holds a B.Sc. in math and computer science from Tel Aviv University and served in the IDF Technology Unit as a chief programmer. Richard ReesRichard Rees is President of Scanology, a fast growing, full spectrum, RFID solutions provider based in Boxmeer, The Netherlands. Scanology has a global reputation for its ability to provide unbiased practical advice on the current and future capabilities of barcode and RFID systems. Scanology is a member of GS1 Nederland, and was the first Dutch company to join EPCGlobal. Richard has worked at senior level in Production, Packaging Design, Procurement and Logistics in European FMCG and has over 30 years practical experience as user, supplier and standards maker for automatic identification systems. Richard served a 12 year term as a member of the EAN UK supervisory board, and plays an active role in the development of ISO and EPCglobal RFID standards. Richard is a regular speaker at RFID conferences, and has a reputation for 'telling and showing' the opportunities presented by emerging Auto ID technologies through the use of open data content standards and open protocols for interoperable RFID and hybrid systems. Richard is a graduate of Cambridge (MA) and Edinburgh (MBA) Universities. |
