Speaker Biography (Peter Fatelnig)

Peter Fatelnig is currently Deputy Head of Unit at the European Commission in the area of Information Society and Media policies and technologies. In his work he follows research and developments in areas such as RFID, Internet of Things and the Future of the Internet in view of their societal and economic dimension and their policy implications. Prior to this position, Peter served as assistant to senior management and was involved in research project monitoring when joining the European Commission back in 1998.
Before joining the European Commission he worked on international assignments for the consulting firm American Management Systems, and earlier for the European Space Agency, then posted in the Netherlands. Peter holds a master degree in Communication Engineering from the University of Technology in Graz, Austria.
