Can-Trace and politics

Can-Trace, the voluntary food traceability initiative in Canada is seeking more political support. Government ministers approved creation of a national traceability plan during their annual policy meeting in Summer 2005. However, the original government target of 80% traceability in the food supply chain is no longer considered realistic.

Food Traceability 2006 conference will be held on February 1-2 2006 in Dallas, USA. This hot topic is driven by health scares, bioterrorism and new laws.
