Good Eating Traceability & Incentives at UK School
Nov 24, 2005
Haberdasher's Askes School in North London, one of the famous old children's schools in England, has introduced a smart card that provides incentives for eating vegetables such as CDs that can be won. The cards gathers data with 99% accuracy from the 1300 boys under a scheme led by the UK's Institute of Food Research. The data can be broken down into gender, age, ethnicity, time of year, specific products and even the weather. However, there is no linkage to name, in accordance with data protection laws. Similar systems will now be set up in four more schools
