The National Research Council (NRC) is the Government of Canada's premier organization for research and development. NRC's Printable Electronics (PE) initiative coordinates key industrial areas - materials, ink, printing, and packaging - as a springboard for a profitable, large-scale PE sector. NRC seeks new partners to collaborate with us and with leading members of the Canadian Printable Electronics industry to conduct product-driven applied research. Collaborators Raymor, Xerox Research Centre Canada, Caledon Controls, and GGI International will demonstrate their capabilities at NRC's booth. NRC PE current research priorities encompass Functional Materials, Functional Devices and Functional Imprinting.

Greenhouse gas emissions of automobiles could drop 80 percent by 2050

A new National Research Council report finds that by the year 2050, the U.S. may be able to reduce petroleum consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent for light-duty vehicles, cars and small trucks via a combination of more efficient vehicles; the use of alternative fuels like biofuels, electricity, and hydrogen; and strong government policies to overcome high costs and influence consumer choices.
